As the digital asset market continues to gain momentum the doggie world is all set to join the bandwagon. Coming as a step towards supporting animal welfare UAE-based Stray Dogs Center launches NFT (non-fungible tokens). It has become the first not-for-profit animal welfare to do so in the Middle East. [The news was first carried by Khaleej Times].
According to a statement issued to KT, “Stray Dogs Centre is the fourth largest animal rescue worldwide to release its own NFT directly at 12’o clock on March 12. Mint link will be released on Twitter.” The UAE-based Stray Dogs Center launches NFT to enable digital adoption of rescued dogs under its care. The NFT holder bears the cost of the pet with regular payments.
A chance to support animal welfare
In the first phase of its planned three-part series the Stray Dog Center has launched NFTs of 150 UAE rescued dogs on the Solana blockchain. Interested buyers must have a Solana wallet to purchase the NFTs. A major part of the proceeds from the sale of these NFTs will go towards supporting animal rescue. The rest will be used to offer free airdrops to randomly selected NFT holders.

What are NFT and free airdrop?
NFT is a non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a blockchain, a form of digital ledger, that can be sold and traded. In simple words it enables digitally buying and selling of art, music and now even virtual adoption of pets. And free airdrop is a gift in the form of NFT.
