This eponymous label named after boss-dog Pickles is upping the fashion game for dogs with its pop of colours and cute designs. Besides the collar, leash and harness the walkie sets are too cool. And the human behind the brand Maria Bloss, a pandemic-preneur, creates hilarious Instagram Reels.

Please describe your brand in 100 words.
Maria: As humans, we have our individual style, so why must dogs be different? Just like people, they have their own distinct character, and we want to offer each one of them an opportunity to express their unique personality. Born in Dubai, our local start-up is focused on fashion, colourful patterns and lots of fun. We design every product with a mission is to bring happiness to the daily walks of humans with their dogs.
How is Pickles DXB filling a gap in the market that has other [similar] players too?
Maria: We started our small business in July 2020 with the intention to bring essential everyday accessories with colourful prints into the UAE dog community that had otherwise limited choice. I’m a natural shopaholic and I always felt that the existing market didn’t offer enough options for humans of dogs like myself, and therefore we have created Pickles DXB. We pride ourselves on bringing quality products for everyday use at an affordable price point.
How has the brand resonated with the community?
Maria: We are celebrating two years in business this year and we are incredibly thankful for the amazing dog community, who supported us on our journey through this time. It brings us incredible joy to see our customers out and about in the city and online too 😉
Do you collaborate with local animal rescue organisations?
Maria: Yes, we regularly support rescue organisations and supply them with our items when they are in need.
Over to the brand ambassador now, how does Pickles inspire you everyday?
Maria: Pickles is a born comedian. He gets especially funny if his favourite ball gets stuck under the furniture during playtime and he is trying to get it out by himself. We are truly best friends; he always lifts me up when I feel low, and he is always by my side through thick and thin.
Finally, what is that one crazy thing that you will do for the love of dogs?
Maria: We are very active in the local dog community, and we would love to help every abandoned/stray dog find their forever home.
