A snoring dog, a good dog book, your favourite beverage and life can be quite pawsome. But book lovers will agree that shopping books isn’t easy. There is always an urge to buy every book on the shelf. We’ve been there. We’ve done that. So, we won’t judge you. Instead, we will make your shopping spree easy and fun by sharing a list of nine books that dog parents are sure to love. Books ranging from fun, emotional, educational and inspiring that every dog lover, who also likes to read, is sure to enjoy.  

But before getting on to the list, a massive thank you to two of our ‘humans of dogs’ Aditi Biswas and Tisha Maniram who shared their list of favourite books with us. Although it’s difficult to narrow down a few favourite dog books, they did it for us. And we present to you nine dog books that we love, and you are sure to love as well.

Marley & Me (PC: Amazon)

Marley & Me by John Grogan

Hands down an all-time favourite Marley & Me is John Grogan’s heart-warming and funny tribute to their family dog Marley, an adorable, hyperactive Labrador retriever who they fondly call the “clearance” pup. Its a beautiful account of how John and his wife Jenny experience various life stages with their dog. If you are looking for a fun, light read, this is the one you should pick.

A Dog’s Purpose (PC: Amazon)

A Dog’s Purpose by W Bruce Cameron

This book by W. Bruce Cameron stands out as it offers a dog’s perspective on the undying bond between humans and their best friend, a dog. The book revolves around how a dog finds his purpose over the course of several lives. It’s the first part of the trilogy that includes A Dog’s Journey and A Dog’s Promise. All three are great reads.

It’s a funny account of Josephine’s life from beating weight issue to choosing a life with people she loved and those who loved her.
