The treats are dehydrated gently and designed with dogs and rabbits. It is the only brand in the UAE that offers a new menu every month, researched, designed and handmade by founder Suad Khalil. Not only is every treat box handcrafted and packaged with love but also sniff-approved by boss-dogs Nala and Naji. What inspired you to set up Nom Nom? [The name makes me hungry]

Suad: I’ve always enjoyed making dog, rabbit and cat treats for my own furry family of seven including Nala and Naji (our dogs), Nunu and Nola (our rabbits) and Pepper, Max and Mila (our cats). They inspired me to set up Nom Nom. We believe that our pets deserve natural and species appropriate food that they are meant to eat. Not only do I enjoy making treats for our dogs, but I discovered a huge gap when it comes to natural and healthy rabbit treats. So, I started making nutritious treats for my rabbit especially made for their delicate digestive system. After three years of feeding my pack with nutritious treats I wanted to share these with other families with four-legged members.

Since launch how has Nom Nom resonated with the community?

Suad: I can say that I have some of the best customers! Since our launch in July 2021, we have received great support from the pet community. We are ever so grateful to our loyal supporters for their trust; majority of whom are returning customers. Every order that we receive makes us feel as if we are adding value to the lives of pets and their humans.

What are your future plans for the brand?

Suad: Nom Nom is still in its early stage, every month we get to learn something new, operationally. We want to expand our production capacity and reach. Above all, we will continue researching to make the best and nutritious treats for pets.

Do you collaborate with animal rescue organisations?

Suad: We always contribute towards supporting rescues one way or other. We contribute through food, vet bills and more. Soon our customers will also be able to contribute via Nom Nom too. We are working on that.
