What we know so far
First things first, the race is being organised by Hussain Darwish who is behind the popular HK9 series of events. The final route for the upcoming race is being finalised and will be announced this week. What we know so far is that it will include “spectacular mountain view with sand, rock and water.” Such canicross events where humans participate in cross country running with canine companions are quite popular in many parts of the world.
Those participating in the race will also compete for free food for three months. While size and breed are no constraints, participating dogs cannot be aggressive towards humans and other dogs.
Outdoor bonding time
Such events are seen to be great bonding opportunities not only between humans and canines but also as community initiatives built for animal lovers. Some participants tend to be serious about competing in such races, while others take it as more fun day out with their canine partners.
With perfect weather in the UAE right now, it is a nice opportunity to engage in outdoor activities with our four-legged furry partners. While participating in such races, one worry tends to be getting lost. But that will be taken care of since the route for this upcoming run will be clearly charted out.
