There have been a million times when as human of a beautiful dog I’ve thought wouldn’t it be nice to have an online pharmacy for pets? And I’m certain that I’m not alone. There are many pet parents in the UAE who could benefit if such an online pet pharmacy concept existed here.
Well, alas not here but recently specialty retailer PetSmart launched an online pharmacy for pets in the US. The Pharmacy at PetSmart is a comprehensive, one-stop online destination for medical needs of cats, dogs and livestock.
What can be ordered?
From allergy relief to refills on medication and more, customers with a prescription from their veterinarian can easily place orders on petsmart.com. Prescription medications are then processed through PetSmart’s online pharmacy and shipped straight to the customer’s doorstep in the US.
“The Pharmacy at PetSmart is an exciting new way to help our customers access medications for pets quickly and conveniently,” said Kristin Shane, SVP of Merchandising, PetSmart in an official statement. “Whether you’re ordering your prescriptions for your dog or cat, on petsmart.com or our mobile app we’ll make sure you get exactly what your pet needs to thrive delivered right to your door.”
How to use the service?
To use the service, PetSmart customers in the US with an active vet prescription can go to PetSmart’s online pharmacy. Then find the correct medication and add it to their cart. After providing relevant pet and vet information, customers can check out to complete the transaction. While PetSmart handles the prescription verification.
Now all you pet parents out there, just like me if you are wondering wouldn’t it be nice to have an online pharmacy for pets. Let’s hope such a service is launched in the UAE soon.
